And play with grandkids!

Fortunately our flight leaves at a 9:55, which is a pretty reasonable hour in the morning.
Since we’re tagging along on Dan’s business trip and he’s traveling with a group of his colleagues, the University and the Chinese hosts have put together all the arrangements for local travel and accommodations. However, the hosts—while assuring us that things will all work out—appear to have addressed this with a rather serene approach, so some of the final details are still coming together. We just learned that there will be a driver awaiting us to take us from Shanghai to Hangzhou when we arrive. This might end up being a bit less scenic than the train ride which we had expected, but since we learned that the railroad doesn’t offer reservations and we would have had to figure out the system, get our own tickets, and hope there would be room on the train—all this after a 13 hour plane trip—we were happy to accept the ride. It will be an adventure.
Big day tomorrow! We’ll keep you posted.
